  Oatmeal Honey

  The plain one. No essential oils, just olive oil, coconut oil, colloidal oatmeal, and honey.

• Olive Oil

  In every bar, and the largest share of the recipe. Olive oil makes a dense, long-lasting bar with a creamy lather.

• Coconut Oil

  Also in every bar. Coconut oil hardens the bar and gives it big, bubbly lather. We balance it against the olive oil.

• Essential Oils

  All four scented bars are scented only with essential oils: cedarwood, fir needle, patchouli, juniper berry, orange, bergamot, lemon, litsea cubeba, lavender, peppermint, rosemary, and spearmint. No fragrance oils.

• Honey

  A small amount in every bar. Honey darkens the batter to a warm amber and boosts the lather.

• Colloidal Oatmeal

  Oats we blend and sift ourselves until they're fine enough to disappear into the batter. In the Lemon Honey, Oatmeal Honey, and Mountain Cabin bars.

• The Cold-Process Method

  We combine the oils and lye at low temperature and let saponification happen on its own over days, then cure the bars. The glycerin that forms along the way stays in the bar.
